Message from the President
With just more over two months to go until the 2008 REALTORS® Conference & Expo
Nov. 7-10 in Orlando, we’re turning on the afterburners to make this year’s event a special one.
If it appears as though we’re increasing our marketing and industry awareness, you’re right. In fact, quite frankly it will be hard to miss us at the conference. From the electronic key cards that will open your hotel rooms and sign sponsorships, to our large booth and back-page advertisement on the show’s official publication, we should be pretty easy to spot.
In addition to demonstrating our new electronic lockbox solution, REALTOR® Lockbox NXT, we’ll also be scheduling time with our clients and prospects to discuss key upcoming product initiatives as well as meeting with our newly formed advisory group
One key initiative you’ll find us quite excited to discuss, is our REALTOR® Lockbox NXT Wireless product. As a result of its wireless capabilities, there is no need to recharge or renew your lockbox access device.
In fact, using the SentriLink™ wireless card reader with Bluetooth® technology, it automatically renews the SentriCard®. The benefits here are a number of industry firsts, namely:

- No devices to charge
Because of you, we’ve grown tremendously and today have a client roster of more than 200 REALTOR® associations and boards using our REALTOR® Lockbox system representing more than 200,000 agents.
And we’re quite proud of how each and every one of our departments strives for the highest attention to detail when working with our clients. And nothing makes us happier than when we hear it from a client, like one of our newest installations in Jacksonville, North Carolina

For the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS®, Two Words Describe its Conversion to SentriLock: ‘Awesome’ and ‘Amazing’
As one of the first Boards to install SentriLock’s newly launched, industry-leading REALTOR® Lockbox NXT lockbox system, the Jacksonville (North Carolina) Board of REALTORS® was not only facing the task of moving to a new product, but also converting to a new system.
In an industry filled with stories of Excedrin-sized headaches due to product upgrades gone awry and conversions that have turned entire memberships upside down, the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS® knew it had a test on its hands. But following months of detailed planning and with a solid plan in place, the Board made the move.
“Converting to SentriLock has been a wonderful experience,” said Heather Greene, MLS Administrator for the Jacksonville Board of REALTORS®.
“On a scale of 1-10, I would rate our conversion a 10 for sure,” she said.
The board’s contract with its previous lockbox vendor expired in July, and although they had been with them since 2002, “it was a very frustrating experience from an administrative point of view,” said Greene.”
In all, Greene estimates that 25-30 brokers from her board were responsible for making the unanimous decision to go with SentriLock.
“All I can say is the SentriLock conversion was amazing and awesome. Over two days we had classes that our 540 members could choose from and they had plenty of options to select a time that best fit their schedules
Greene said that as an extra incentive to get agents and brokers to attend the one-hour training, the board provided each member with an electronic SentriCard® access key card at no cost. If an agent or broker missed the training, they were required to pay the $25 cost for the SentriCard.
“We knew we needed a different lockbox system and the features offered by SentriLock have worked out great,” she said. “The fact that we can issue one-day access codes for contractors and vendors and that our brokers and agents don’t need to visit the house to let someone in is a huge benefit and convenience.”

When it Comes to Sales, We’ve Got You Covered
When it comes to an outside sales force, you would be hard pressed to find two representatives with more real estate industry experience and who understand your needs as much as the duo of James Reynolds and John Whitney.
Both bring a keen understanding of the industry honed from their nearly 40 years of experience. And both are truly dedicated to “doing the right thing by serving their customers’ needs.” Here is a bit more James and John:
James Reynolds, Eastern Regional Sales Manager, is a 23-year industry veteran. James was one of the first sales people at BORIS Systems Inc., which later became Moore Data, and then Fidelity MLS Solutions. Along the way, James worked for each of those organizations. He then went on to become senior manager of MLS Partnerships for Realtor.com, where he secured data contracts from the top 150 Boards and MLS organizations.
In 2003, realizing the ground-floor opportunity at SentriLock, James became the company’s first employee. His personal sales strategy mirrors that of the company’s: “always operate from a position of integrity and trust, which will attract customers with the same values.”
A seasoned road warrior, James is accustomed to 100,000-plus miles in the air each year. And when he’s not working from an airport terminal, he can be found relaxing at home in East Lansing, Michigan. He can be reached at jreynolds@SentriLock.com
John Whitney, Western Regional Sales Manager, brings more than 15 years of real estate industry experience to SentriLock. John left the U.S. Navy in 1993 and took his first job in the real estate industry issuing lockbox keys and entering MLS listings for the Albuquerque Metropolitan Board of REALTORS®.
He later went on to become the Executive Director of Southwest Multiple Listing Service, one of the first wholly owned MLS subsidiaries to drop the MLS book and put listings on the Internet.
John managed the initial transition to electronic lockboxes before going to work for Interealty Corp as a large account and regional sales manager covering the Western U.S. and Canada. When SentriLock called John was ready to bring the experience and trust gained from working with Associations, MLSs and vendors.
“I have always felt that vendors typically don’t fully understand how Associations and MLSs operate and interact with their members,” he said. “I’ve been in the shoes of the people that I’m selling to: from issuing keys, to taking member calls and managing the vendors, I’ve sat in their chairs.”

Ordering Lockboxes, Card Readers and Other Items Just Got Easier -

Constantly striving to improve processes while making it easier for customers to purchase its products, SentriLock now has a “Shopping Cart” feature available for online orders.
The “Shopping Cart” was designed so that Association Staff can log in and purchase products quickly and efficiently. All a Board or Association needs to do is go to http://shop.sentrilock.com, then log in using their ID and password.
Once you’ve located the product and selected the quantity, you’re a click or two away: just click the “Proceed to Checkout” button and fill in the shipping and billing address. Once completed, select a shipping method, confirm the order and you’re on your way. Momentarily, you will receive a message confirming the order was placed.
